ZITON Secures Long-Term Bank and Investor Financing to Replace Bonds and ESG-Linked Loans
ZITON A/S secures long-term bank and investor financing to replace listed bonds and ESG-linked loans, supporting jack-up vessel investment and offshore win
Research Desk
Danish offshore wind services company ZITON A/S announced that it has completed a new long-term financing agreement with a group of European banks and institutional investors.
The arrangement replaces the company's existing listed bonds and ESG-linked loans with a structure built on infrastructure-style terms, which ZITON says matches the long-term character of its business and its role in offshore wind operations and maintenance.
Flexibility for jack-up vessel investment
According to ZITON, the new and more stable financial structure positions the company to keep executing its strategy, including additional investment in its fleet of specialised jack-up vessels and further development of its service offerings.
The company states that the agreement also reinforces its standing as a dependable long-term partner to wind turbine manufacturers and offshore wind farm operators at a time of growing demand for maintenance and major component replacement across the industry.
CFO points to confidence in strategy
Jens Michael Haurum, CFO at ZITON, described the financing as significant for the company. "The new financing is an important milestone for ZITON and provides us with a strong financial foundation for the years ahead. It reflects the strength of our business and the confidence in our long-term strategy," he said.
Haurum added that the agreement gives the company greater flexibility to pursue growth ambitions, develop the fleet further, and keep supporting customers with reliable and efficient solutions for offshore wind operations and maintenance.
Arranged with NatWest backing
NatWest acted as ZITON's financial adviser during the process, supporting the arrangement of the new financing. The deal was concluded under the ownership of Macquarie Asset Management and, combined with recent investments in the fleet, organisation and operational facilities, is intended to help ZITON strengthen its position as a leading provider of offshore wind operations and maintenance services.
A busy 2026 for the Danish company
The financing closes out a year of activity for ZITON. In January 2026, the company announced that construction had begun on a new headquarters in Horsens, which it called an important milestone. By June 2026, the traditional Danish topping-out ceremony, known as a "rejsegilde", was held at the building alongside colleagues, partners, architects, engineers, contractors and craftsmen.
In April 2026, ZITON extended its strategic partnership with RWE through a new three-year framework agreement, reinforcing a long-standing collaboration between the two companies. Financially, the year has also brought positive news.
The Q1 2026 interim report, published in May, showed a strong start to the year, building on what the company characterised as a great result in 2025, reported in the Q4 2025 release in February. The Q2 2026 interim report, published in August, recorded a satisfying half-year result compared with the previous year, with ZITON noting EBITDA figures for the period.
