Fugro has secured a post-installation seabed survey contract from installation contractor Cadeler for the East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm in the UK, with the announcement issued on 4 November 2026 from Wallingford, UK.

The scope of work centres on verifying installation quality and supplying Geo-data that will underpin safe and efficient construction of the wind farm.

ROV campaign set to begin in early 2027

From early 2027, Fugro will mobilise its FCV 600 work-class remotely operated vehicle (ROV) aboard Cadeler's installation vessel.

The ROV will visit all 64 monopile foundation locations, carrying out surveys and installation-related activities to confirm that the foundations have been installed as planned and to deliver the insights required to support their long-term integrity.

Fugro describes the surveys as a means of reducing risk and maintaining installation quality, providing the Geo-data needed for reliable offshore construction. The work sits alongside the company's specialist survey, positioning, construction support, and ROV services.

Project capacity puts foundation integrity in focus

Once complete, East Anglia TWO will have an installed capacity of 960 MW, sufficient to power the equivalent of approximately 950,000 homes.

Fugro points out that a project of this size makes installation quality and the long-term integrity of its foundations critical to overall success. Cadeler, the company behind the award, plays a key role in bringing new renewable energy capacity online.

Contract extends existing collaboration at Hornsea 3

The East Anglia TWO assignment builds on Fugro's current work with Cadeler at the Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm, where the company is delivering positioning and construction services. Fugro specialists are stationed on the installation vessel Wind Ally, supporting the installation of 197 monopile foundations there.

At Hornsea 3, the team uses Fugro's InclinoCam vision technology to continuously measure the tilt, inclination, and vertical alignment of each monopile, helping Cadeler maintain centimetre-level installation accuracy throughout the construction campaign.

Cadeler cites Fugro's track record in ROV and survey services

Maxime Duthoit, Senior Project Manager at Cadeler, welcomed the continuation of the partnership, saying Fugro's track record in the offshore industry and its position as one of the market leaders in ROV and survey services provide confidence in the quality and reliability of the data required to support successful project delivery.

Their expertise, he added, will play an important role in maintaining the high installation standards expected on East Anglia TWO.

Fugro stresses full life-cycle offshore capabilities

Stuart Hamilton, Fugro's Positioning and Construction Support Director for Europe and Africa, said Cadeler is delivering some of Europe's most significant offshore wind developments and that Fugro is proud to support these projects with a range of specialist offshore services.

He noted that the company's expertise covers the full life cycle of offshore wind projects, from the early site investigations that inform project planning through to the survey, positioning and inspection services needed during construction, and that bringing these capabilities together helps clients deliver projects safely and efficiently.
