The Renewables Infrastructure Group (TRIG) has confirmed the completion of its divestment of a 17.5% interest in the 588 MW Beatrice wind farm, located off the east coast of Scotland.
Ownership transfer finalized
The stake has been acquired for USD 209.2 million by funds managed by Equitix Investment Management Ltd, which exercised a pre-emption right to acquire the investment. Equitix was already an existing co-shareholder in the Beatrice project before taking full ownership of TRIG's interest through the completed transaction.
The transfer concludes a process that began with the deal's announcement on June 15, 2026. The divestment agreement was subsequently signed in July, and the completion now formally ends TRIG's holding in the asset.
Proceeds directed at the revolving credit facility
According to filings, the sales proceeds have been applied by TRIG to reduce borrowings under its revolving credit facility, which now stand at USD 245.2 million. In addition to the corporate-level effect, the company stated that the deal removes approximately USD 279.9 of project-level borrowings attributable to its percentage shareholding of Beatrice. The transaction therefore reduces both corporate and project-level debt linked to the stake, delivering a dual deleveraging effect for the company.
A step in the USD 533.1 million realization program
With the transaction complete, TRIG has now achieved 40% of its 12-month USD 533.1 million capital realisation target. That target was set out at the company's Capital Markets Seminar in May 2026, and the Beatrice divestment represents the progress logged against it since the goal was announced.
The asset and the counterparty
Beatrice is a 588MW wind farm situated off the east coast of Scotland. TRIG held its 17.5% stake in the project through to the completion of the transaction, at which point the interest passed to Equitix Investment Management Ltd. Equitix's position as an existing shareholder in Beatrice meant the disposal was channelled through a pre-emption right rather than an open-market process, with the co-shareholder stepping in to take over the holding.
